Smacked right in the middle of Chomp Chomp, it is difficult not to miss this rojak/popiah stall with its brightly lit signage. YumzYumz tried out their rojak for this review.
First impression was a ton of crushed peanuts sprinkled on top. There were the usual suspects of cucumbers, pineapples, tau poks, fragrant ginger flowers, turnips and toasted you tiao.
The secret to every rojak stalls is definitely it’s sauce. Sadly for this, it was somewhat underwhelming. There was the zesty component from its lime juice, sugar for sweetness, chili for spiceness, but lacking in prawn paste taste. For any rojak, if you can’t really taste the prawn paste, then what exactly does it constitute? And their toasted you tiao, although crispy, but in our opinion, was overly charred.
Another point to note, was the portion. $5 was the large selection, but it seemed quite “small” to us. We can’t imagine what a $3 order looks like. Still can eat, but definitely not the best.
