Located deep within the Balestier and Whampoa area, Wheeler’s Yard is camouflaged among the other warehouse-liked buildings, with a space almost like an aircraft hanger. We chanced upon this lovely cafe that offers coffee and traditional pub offerings, retro-fitted with bicycle themed warehouse turned cafe. YumzYumz reviewed their Miso Pork Belly Bowl and here is our food review of it.

There were 7 nicely charamalized pork belly chunky slices laid on top, with a lovely onsen egg placed in the middle. Although the pork bellies may seem dry, thick and tough, they were surprisingly not so. They were in fact melt in the mouth tenderlicious, juicy and fragrant, oozing with juicy delights from within.

On the sides were a bunch of pickled cabbage for the crunchy texture lacking in the rice, eggs, and pork.

Mixing the slurry egg with the rice, together with the sprinkled chopped spring onions and sesame seeds was effusive and memorable.

At $17.90 a bowl, quantity was adequately given, quality was undoubtedly rich and distinct. Definitely one that we would recommend and return for more.
