If you’re wondering what to eat at ManNa Korean Restaurant, their Dolsot Bibimbap is a great option. In this Korean bibimbap food review, we chose the beef topping for our dolsot bibimbap.
Dolsot refers to the small-sized piece of cookware or serveware made of agalmatolite, which is suitable for one to two servings of bap (cooked rice). Bibimbap, on the other hand, simply translates to “mixed rice with meat and assorted vegetables”. The assortment of vegetables included the standard ones such as beansprouts, shredded carrots, greens, and seaweed. In the middle, there was a gooey egg yolk which provided the needed “glue” and silkiness. The beef slices were sweet and subtly savory. The sauce came separately in a small saucer and packed a strong punch with its sweetness and rich flavor. When everything was mixed together, it created a wholesome meal with flavors bursting in the mouth and a texture of soft and crunchy. An added bonus was the crispy and slightly caramelized rice at the bottom from the hot claypot.
Despite the somewhat pricey cost of $17.80 per bowl, the Dolsot Bibimbap at ManNa Korean Restaurant was still a tasty and filling meal. Service was swift even with a full house of customers, and the staff were friendly and warm, introducing and assisting us with our order.
