What to eat at Tampines Hub? YumzYumz tried out Ramen Hitoyoshi’s Garlic Ramen with all toppings, and here is our food review of it.
It came in a huge ramen bowl, with a giant seaweed on the side, topped with crunchy black fungus, 2 halved ajitamago or ramen eggs or seasoned eggs, with gooey egg yolks. A generous scoop of chopped spring onions in smacked in the middle to add flavour and texture.
Next was their meaty melt in your mouth chashu, huge slab with the perfect thickness. It broke down even as we held it with our chopsticks and seasoned perfectly.
Followed by their aromatic aburi belly chashu, well charred and caramelized, sweet and savoury, which we were begging for more.
Finally, their special chashu, with a healthy amount of fats and lean meat, mixed into a mesh of sweet smokey pulled pork.
Noodles were al dente, springy and held the soup really nicely.
Soup was thick, almost gravy-liked consistency, full-bodied flavour with subtle garlicky taste.
As a guide, there was a choice of soup base, whether garlic, original or spicy, and we chose garlic.
Taste of soup can be customized to either light taste, normal, or strong taste. We chose normal, and it was already quite strong.
Oil level can be chosen to be less oil, normal or more oil. We gotten the normal level and it wasn’t overtly oily, just nice.
Type of noodles can be customized to either thicker noodles or thin, and we chose the thicker version.
Noodles texture can be hard, normal or soft, and we chose normal.
Service and attitude was superb, friendly and approachable, swift and helpful. Simply a great experience with awesome food.
At $16.90, it has got to be one of the best ramen we had. Impeccable soup base, irresistible ingredients and delightful service. What to eat at Ramen Hitoyoshi? Try out their Garlic Ramen!
