One of the rustic looking stalls in Malaysia Boleh’s chain of food court, YumzYumz visited the ever crowed AMK Hub outlet and tried out the Fishball Noodles stall, and here is our food review of it.
If Yong Peng Xi Dao’s fishball noodles are a representation or lesser version of how Malaysia foods are, then it is rightly justified that Malaysia’s food are really much tastier than Singapore’s (in general).
The noodles were totally engulfed in the well concocted black sauce mix, subtly sourness with the right amount of saltiness and sweetness. Every bite of the noodles brings out a burst of happiness flavour.
In a separate bowl contained 3 huge fishballs and some fish cake slices. We joked to the stall owner that the fishballs were really big! She replied gleefully and said “I guarantee that after you eat these fishballs, you will come make again.”
Indeed, the fishballs were incredibly bouncy and packs a wicked bite. The intricate mashed layers of fish paste within suggest that it was handmade and the texture can’t be replicated by any machine.
At $3.50 a bowl, Yong Peng Xi Dao fishball noodles is definitely worth every cent. Noodles were fantastic, and fishballs were awesome. Compared to a nearby fishball noodles stall, Yong Peng Xi Dao fishball noodles wins head and shoulders above.
