Where to get good bak kut teh? YumzYumz heads to Hong Ji’s Woodlands’ branch and tried out their herbal bak kut teh, and here is our food review of it.
Almost all of the coffee shop patrons were having something from Hong Ji, and it speaks volume of its popularity.
There were 3 chunky pieces of fatty and tender pork, falling off its bones easily and melting in our mouths. Some tau pok were thrown into the fray, soaking up the piping and potent herbal soup. Whether you are a pepperish or herbal person, you gotta love Hong Ji’s soup. It was intensifying and irresistable in every mouthful.
Probably due to their popularity, perhaps attitude and service got to them, as it wasn’t a pleasant experience.
Nevertheless, at $6 for a single person portion, it was somewhat expensive, but it was definitely delicious and warrants a return visit.
