YumzYumz heard of this carrot cake stall and decided to give them a try. This is our food review of their black and white carrot cake combi.
Firstly, the black carrot cake was soft, savoury and sweet. Bits of crispy fried eggs were in every bit of kway, as well as the cai poh, which was also added generously. Not overtly sweet nor salty, it was nicely fried, although the kways were slightly undersized and could do well with larger pieces.
Next was the white carrot cake version, and it was a delightful surprise. The amount of cai poh and eggs was simply generous and the kways were nicely held by the egg mixture. Seasoning was nicely done with the right amount of savouriness, and wasn’t overtly oily.
For the price of $4, we got the best of both versions. Father & Son carrot cake is a addition to any main dish or even as a main dish on its own.
