Huge portion of nasi briyani with masala chicken briyani at Springleaf Prata Place. We take a look at how our masala chicken briyani went in this food review.
First off, what is masala? The word masala simply means “spices”. So in masala chicken means a chicken marinated with spices.
In this case of Springleaf Prata Place’s masala chicken, it was a whole chicken drumstick, marinated in spices, drenched with curry gravy, with a heap of generously given basmati rice. Disappointingly, their briyani rice was utterly below standard, mushy and totally no bite whatsoever. Huge in quantity, but severely lacking in quality. Luckily, their curry gravy came to the rescue with aromatic thick flavour and consistency. Masala chicken was good, tender and tasty, well marinated to the core.
Lastly, papadum pieces were totally flat, resembling 2 thick cardboards. -_-
At $7.50 for a plate of nasi briyani and masala chicken, it was definitely filling, but not entirely satisfying with horrendous rice.
