Cheese burger with wagyu beef, overflowing melted aged cheddar at Columbus Coffee Co. Lets find out if it is worth its price.
A thick patty of wagyu beef, pinkish on the inside and grilled nicely on the outside with a slight crisp.
Buttered up brioche buns grilled to a pleasant sheen and browned, topped on 2 onion rings, or as stated in their menu, “fried sherry-battered onions”. We didn’t taste any sherry or any flavour, as everything was covered in their generous dose of melted aged cheddar. Beneath these were purple coleslaw to add the needed crunchy texture. And finally on the sides were some curly fries.
Was this wagyu cheese burger worth the price of $21.40?
It was certainly tasty, with the right flavour, texture, combination. Certainly not your conventional McDonalds and more of a connoisseur level burger. But definitely not something we will get on a daily basis.
