Not so common version of the common chicken rice, YumzYumz had chicken rice balls at Toa Payoh’s Great Wall Chicken Rice, and here is what we thought of it.
The usual chicken rice hand squeezed into rice balls, what purpose does that serve besides aesthetics? Absolutely no value added to taste, except possibly in a novelty sense?
Nevertheless, rice was mushy and subtly seasoned, but adding their spicy thick chili sauce helped to elevate its taste. Chicken was tender and surprisingly tasty and full bodied flavour.
At $3.60 a plate, chicken rice ball is fun to have, but took unnecessary time to squeeze and prepare.
