What to eat at Southwest@Punggol, located within Punggol Settlement? We tried out their simple looking hawaiian pork burger for this food review.

From its outlook, it certainly wasn’t showing much excitement nor prospect. But off the bat from our first bite, we fell in love with this simplistically looking burger. Soft buns with grilled buttered inside. Pork patty was marvelously marinated and grilled, caramelized crust and dripping with savoury sweet juice. A layer of sweet sauce was applied on top of it for the elevated taste and satisfaction. Smacked right on top of it was a slice of pineapple, for the extra sweetness and fruity crunchy texture. These were followed by a slice of onion for the heat and crunch, and again another type of sweetness. A layer of mayo was applied and followed by some crunchy leafy lettuce.

It was an amazingly built burger, with a focus of sweetness in different forms, and texture from every crevice and nook.

An order of Southwest@Punggol’s hawaiian pork burger cost $18, which comes with a side of fries. It was on the expensive spectrum, but definitely worth a go. Not that you get to have such fabulous burger everyday. ^^ Service was good and ambience was enjoyable.
