One of the few stalls in Mayflower Market and Food Centre selling wanton mee, we tried out Soon Heng Handmade Noodle here is YumzYumz review of it.
First off, charsiew slices were savoury and sweet, but lack the extra mile of caramelization, and most of it were fatty parts.
There were 2 wantons, which were plump and tasty, but lack the extra bite, with water chestnut or sorts. But still quite a mouthful. Next were 2 deep fried wantons for the needed crunchy texture.
Finally, we believe their noodles and sauce mix were the star, as it had the charred or caramelized chili sauce mixed into their deep and flavourful sauce, that held nicely onto the well blanched noodles.
At the price of $3 for such a generous portion of wanton noodles and variety, it was definitely worth every cent.
