Are you craving for grilled marinated beef? So are we! We headed down to Yakiniku Like for their individual bbq setup, and got one of their pricier item of Wagyu Karubi & Rosu for this food review.
What is karubi & rosu? Karubi is the boneless short rib or flanken-cut rib, and rosu refers to dorsal cuts of meat, starting from the neck. Ordering was simple, using QR code on our phone, and we had to collect our items when the buzzer rang. Our meat slices were gorgeously marbled, with visibly seen marinate. As the beautiful protein hits the grill, the pleasing sizzle came with aromatic beefy fragrance. Their grill had a strong vacuum suction within that minimizes an overwhelming smokey situation. The resultant grilled beef was, fabulously satisfying. Caramalized wagyu with the right fats oozing with juice and taste. It was delectable on its own, or with one of their sauces that they provide if you fancy more sodium in your system.
For sauces, they have original bbq sauce, garlic soy sauce, sea salt sauce, spicy miso sauce. We had their original bbq sauce and it complemented seamlessly with our nicely grilled beef.
For rice, you can choose from small (150g), medium (200g) and large (300g). No extra cost for any size. For our Wagyu Karubi & Rosu set, it consist of the beef slices, 100g, at $17.80. We went for broke at 200g, needing a top-up of $7. A side of kimchi or salad came along with the set. And finally, lemon tea was added for an extra $2.80.
$27.60 for an irresistible and absolutely tasty grilled wagyu meal was simply a great treat, although on the pricey spectrum. But coupled with their friendly and helpful service staff, it was definitely a terrific experience.
