Offering only lor mee with 2 variants, and featuring in the Michelin Guide, Feng Zhen Lor Mee at Ang Mo Kio is next on our list for our food reviews.

Standard traditional lor mee was pretty straight forward, with a scoop full of minced garlic and a splash of black vinegar on top of blanched noodles with gooey thick gravy. Their gravy was somewhat overtly thick, not runny at all but almost to a consistency of jelly. Probably way too much starch added. Lor bak, or braised pork were tender and chewy, scattered along with some sliced fish cakes. Fried meatballs were surprisingly tasty and crunchy. Right in the middle were some fish flakes which elevated the texture of the subpar gravy. Finally, a halved egg rounded up the whole order.

For $4, the variety of ingredients were adequate and acceptably prepared and made, but quantity of noodles could have been better.
