Nice stall front with the name Chai Chee, looks and sounds promising. Chai Chee in Ang Mo Kio, must be so successful in Chai Chee that they open a stall in Ang Mo Kio.

Sadly, it was just a name and false given impressions. The noodles were over cooked and no bite to it, but definitely good for customers who likes it overcooked.

For $4 a bowl, we got sliced fish cakes, 2 fishballs, 1 meat ball, some minced pork, 1 fish dumpling, and some braised mushrooms. Aside from the braised mushrooms and minced pork, the rest were mostly commercially bought, boiled , serve. Nothing unique in this bowl of noodles.

The sauce was decent and nothing memorable. The only memorable moment was the “can’t be bothered” attitude of the stall holders. Is their business really that good that we were given cold shoulders? Well, we can’t be bothered either.

It certainly fills the tummy, but with other neighbouring stalls offering better selections, this may not be your best choice.
