What to eat at Bukit Timah hawker centre? How about fishball noodles and which stall to choose from? We tried out Teck Hin fishball noodles in this food review.
Spotting a bare stall with minimal hardware and storage, it gave us a sense of traditionally made food.
Noodles were truly minimalistic, simple sauce mix, laden with chunky fish cakes and a single fish dumpling or “her giao”. Sauce mix was slightly sourish from black vinegar, and chili was thick and spicy. Nothing over the top, just simple teochew style noodles. 3 fishballs were given on a separate bowl of soup. Size of fishballs were small, but springy and authentically tasty. The auntie spots a fiery front, so you do have to bear with it if you would want to give their fishball noodles a try.
Pricing for a small order at $4 and $5 for large fishball noodles.
We got the small order at $4, and the portion was certainly small, not exactly filling, with simple and nothing mindblowing. Perhaps they cater to the older generation crowd with simplistic and nostalgic tastebuds.
