Travelled to Kallang to try out Happy Chef Western Food since it is supposed to be great from some other reviews. We tried out their $10 sirloin steak, and were totally dissapointed.
It was supposed to be “medium”. But it turned out to “inside rock hard, outside tender”. Outside meaning the circumference of the steak, inside means the center of it.
Choose two side dishes to go along with the main. Available selections are rice, mashed potato, spaghetti, sunshine egg, coleslaw, french fries, potato salad, garden veg, and spicy veg pickle. We chose the sunny side up fried egg and coleslaw. Both were what they were suppose to be. Edible.
Carving the steak from the outside, it seems like it was what it was supposed to be, tender and edible. However, once we reached the inside, it was rock hard. With this standard, it is a wonder how they got good reviews from other sites. Unless they are inconsistent in their cooking, and your meal will be up to the day’s luck.
