Located within Far East Shopping Centre, YumzYumz visited Shashlik Restaurant and tried out their Shashlik of Beef. Here is our food review for on of their signature items.
Lean beef tenderloin skewers, infused with their house-specialty marinade for 24 hours.
When it was served, it came on a trolley wheeled out by the iconic friendly old uncle, still on a skewer. He would then remove the delicately marinated beef and place on a sizzling hot plate.
We got it on medium rare, and it was beautifully caramelized on the exterior and elegantly seasoned, permeating every inch of the beef.
You can request for other sauce to accompany the already tasty beef, but our preference was to have as it was served, and it was tremendously satisfying.
On the side was a dish of sauerkraut, tomatoes, onions and potato salad.
At $40 an order, Shashlik Restaurant’s Shashlik of Beef is of no doubt, really expensive for a slab of beef. But it wasn’t any ordinary beef tenderloin, for it was obviously made with complexity and intricate skills, emitting a perfumed fragrance for an irresistible treat.
Do note that there is no dress code, as slippers and bermudas are allowed as it is a family friendly restaurant. Just do not wear revealing clothes or inappropriate dressing.
