Craving for a fancy fresh umami Japanese rice bowl while at Raffles City, we got ourselves a bowl of seafood don for this food review at Sushi Raku.
There were 7 different types of sashimi laid on top of some flavoured sushi rice. Sashimi ranged from salmon, tai, prawn, scallop and surf clam or hokkigai. Scallop and prawn were particularly sweet and tasty, with the fishes and clam providing the usual umami flavour. Rice was lightly undercooked, with coloring and hardly any taste, but coupled well with the seafood. Wasabi was grated and tasted really fresh and refreshing, elevating the seafood. Garnish and sides of salad and soup were nice, but at $23, it was quite a splurge considering the quantity and mundane quality.
