Salted fried rice 咸魚炒飯 is one of the few staples at any zi char that most people will order. We got our fix at chomp chomp’s Fu BBQ Seafood for this salted fried rice food review.
Presence of nibs and bits of salted fish were in almost every mouthful we took. Not over salty, complimenting nicely with their wok hei infused fried rice. Rice was slightly over greasy, but beautifully fried with every grain separated, with lots of crabstick bits. Beansprouts were way too raw for our liking, but provided the needed texture for such heavy oily salted fish fried rice variant. Coupled with their sambal chili and salted fish bits, it was quite an enjoyable dish.
Portion for our medium sized order was generous and definitely sufficient for 4 pax and even more, considering the venue and diners usually get many other dishes to go along. Prices are at $6, $10, $15.
Greasy but flavourful, Fu BBQ Seafood’s salted fish fried rice has the quantity and quality to go along with the other goodies you get from Chomp Chomp.
