Old school prawn noodles, nothing fancy, just simple affordable dry or soup based prawn noodles. Located within Shunfu Mart, and facing the main street, it is hard to miss Quan Ann Prawn Mee stall.

    Affordable Prawn Noodles

At $3 a bowl, it is easy to understand why the snakey queues forming at 7am on a weekday. The crowds are most probably recurring customers. The uncle moved with swift precision movements. He manned the stall on his own; taking orders, prepping ingredients, collecting money, and plating or packing. On top of all these, he greeted those customers whom he recognized, and even knew their usual orders!

As we always say, food is not always what makes a business stand out. It is the attitude and small little customer relation touches like this stall.

The prawns are slightly overcooked but still acceptable. The sliced lean pork are generously laid out, together with kangkong and bean sprouts.

The main star is definitely the soup/broth. Not too strong but yet able to taste the prawns swimming on your taste buds.

As said, it is not the fanciest and tastiest prawn noodles you will ever eat, but at $3, you get to taste an old school style of prawn noodles.
