Located in the heartlands of Ang Mo Kio, YumzYumz tried out Soon Lee Prawn Noodles’, well, prawn noodles of course. Helmed by 3 elderly ladies, let’s review how is their prawn noodles.
Signage and stall front was rather weathered and aged, probably never had any refurbishing done for decades or since they set it up.
Options were simple; either dry or soup version.
We got the dry version as usual, to get a taste of both types.
Sauce mix was heavily wet, with ample flavouring, chili was mildly spicy. Ingredients were 2 halved medium sized crunchy prawns, some bean sprouts which we hoped could have been blanched a little longer, 2 slices of fish cakes, and 2 tough and leathery pork slices.
Finally, their prawn soup was blend and begging for more depth.
At $3 per order, it was a lacklustre show and frankly, not something we would return for more, but definitely something to fill the tummy.
