Infamous for difficulties in finding a parking spot along the road side, YumzYumz head down to Beach Road Prawn Mee Eating House for their amazing prawn noodles. This is our food review for their soup based prawn mee.

With swift and polite attitude, from showing our table to taking our order at the counter, everyone was really friendly and helpful in introducing their menu to us. And within 5 minutes, we got our order served to our table.

On first look, its seemingly just another mundane bowl of prawn noodles. However, the strong prawn fragrance from the steaming broth gave us a hint on how good it would be.

The prawns were spoon sized big, halved and crunchy. With their shells still intact, the flesh came off easily and deliciously satisfying. With the prawn head butter tasting creamy and rich with slight pleasant bitterness, it gave another dimension to every bite.

Noodles were nicely blanched along with some greens and bean sprouts.

Finally, its soup which was the very soul of Beach Road Prawn Mee Eating House. Extremely deep prawn flavoured broth, sweet as it touched our taste buds, followed by a lingering savoury and subtle pepperish and herby flavour.

At $6 a bowl of small sized prawn noodles, quality of prawns and soup were overwhelmingly great, and the quantity was slightly more than your average hawker centre size. With such standards, the only downsize has got to be the parking issue. We recommend not driving there and grab a cab over.
