Based on their constant stream of customers, Ang Mo Kio 453 Wanton Noodle’s wanton mee has got to be one of the more popular stalls at Mayflower Hawker Centre. Let’s take a look at their wanton noodles review.
It is stated that they open at 7.30am, but we heard that they usually start around 8am. However, when we reach at 7.30am, there was already a group of about 15 customers placing their preorders! Naturally, we placed our preorders too.
And as they began cooking at 8am, a snake-liked queue was formed, excluding the preorders.
First off, their charsiew were chunky, amazingly tender, well caramelized, savoury and sweet.
Noodles were well blanched, and held well to their awesome sauce mix. Definitely a healthy dose of lard oil for the extra fragrance, and an array of other sauces that weren’t overtly added that obscures the senses. And the mixed in chili ain’t too spicy.
There was a sprinkle of tiny chunks of crunchy, cripsy fried pork lard for the extra texture and flavour. So delicious!
3 wantons were given, and they were plump, savoury, but lacking on texture. Still yummy though.
For the price of $3.50, Ang Mo Kio 453 Wanton Noodle serves up a wickedly yummilicious wanton noodles. Coupled with their friendly and accommodating attitude, no wonder their business is so damn great. YumzYumz recommended!
