YumzYumz tried Popiah, or fresh spring rolls at Maxwell Food Centre, and this is how the food review went.

A whole piece of lettuce was added on the first layer after the spring roll skin, giving a refreshing greenish appearance. The usual sweet sauce was applied sufficiently, followed by well blanched tailed bean sprouts, generous amount of diced boiled eggs, crunchy peanuts, and drained turnips that were simmered nicely yet leaving every bite with a slight crunch. At $1.50 a roll, it is really worth every cent.

It is certainly a nice refreshing side dish that isn’t over power and probably acts as a palate cleanser in a way with all the fresh vegetables.
