Intense mix of normal ingredients in one bowl of holy goodness, YumzYumz finds out how Mak Cho’s Kitchen’s nyonya chap chye fairs in terms of satisfaction.

Soft yet retaining a slight texture, it’s cabbage was infused with flavour from the other ingredients, making it almost meaty. Black fungus was almost jelly like yet retaining its crunchiness. Tang hoon or glass noodles was similarly springy and infused with flavour. Tau kee or bean curd skin were in layers and soaked into the marvelous savoury prawn broth, which have been simmered for ages. So sweet and delicious. Kim cham or dried lily flower were delectably crunchy and gave this dish its final form of enjoyment for anyone.

Such a simple dish of chap chye but yet packing a huge punch in terms of flavour and texture.

Along if the other 2 items, Ayam + Babi Buah Keluak and Nasi Ulam, it was definitely a complete meal.

Was it worth $60 for all 3 items? Definitely! Great for a family meal with these awesome home cooked dishes.
