Another nasi lemak creation on a food item that has nothing to do with nasi lemak. From burger, to now pizza. Nasi Lemak Pizza from Pizza Hut and here is our review of it.
Let’s break it down on the number items on Pizza Hut’s fluffy tasty pan pizza. Ikan bilis (anchovies) were tough and not crispy like what you will find on actual nasi lemak, but they were saltish to say the least. They did place an extra cup of ikan bilis within for us to add onto the pizza. It could be great if the ikan bilis were actually crispy.
Chicken chunks were soft, tender, texture was almost similar to the pizza base.
Egg slices added further texture to the pizza as a whole.
Cucumber chunks onion slices gave a much needed crunch and refreshing taste to every bite.
The gist of the whole nasi lemak pizza has to go to their special sambal sauce. Not too spicy nor sweet, it gave the needed taste and flavour to make it taste like “nasi lemak”.
Finally, the usual cheese mix covering the other areas, with some nicely charred bits.
For $30.90 for a regular size, or 6 pieces, it seems quite a hefty price. As of now, they have a 50% promotion, probably due to Phase 2 Heightened Alert, and it is now $15.45.
A thorough mix and match of various taste and texture, elevating the initial cheesy and fluffy pizza, this is one of the nice creation fast food joints have created with local delights. Recommended.
