Limited edition dessert item at IKEA for this year’s Hari Raya Puasa Festival, YumzYumz tried their mini ondeh cake and here is our food review of it.
IKEA’s mini ondeh cake was like an item which you would have seen on MasterChef segments where chefs recreate classic dishes into something new. It consisted of gula melaka (coconut palm sugar) which is a must have in ondeh ondeh cakes, and coating of shredded coconut. It wasn’t overtly sweet yet pleasing with every bite. We ain’t huge fans of coconut shavings, but in this case, it went really well with the cream, marrying nicely with the pandan sponge layers and gula melaka.

At $3 piece, this mini ondeh cake is definitely one of the nicer items at IKEA restaurant which is not too sweet yet delightfully satisfying for the sweet tooth.
