Launched by King Of Fried Rice, Mentai King’s mentai tiger prawn looks really appetizing on their banners. Hence, we just gotta try out their mentai tiger prawn bowl for this food review.
Beautifully blow torched mentai sauce on top of 3 sliced open prawns, with a alluring aroma when served on their garlic infused rice. It was creamy and at the same time, smokey and aromatic. Prawns were amply sized, and garlic rice had the similar consistency of sushi rice. Garlic taste was extremely subtle and not overwhelming. The mentai sauce mixed nicely with the rice to form a good combination. On the sides were some blanched broccoli and a few pieces of tamago. Portion was fairly underwhelming, and we thought it was overly priced at $9.90 for such quantity. And their process of preparing their orders were extremely slow. It took a good 40mins to get our order. So do cater some time if you are thinking of getting it during peak lunch time.
Quality was moderately satisfying, while quantity was begging for more. Mentai King’s mentai tiger prawns is not an item we would not be having again, and probably try out out items instead.
