Famous for its flaming display of ramen showmanship, Menbaka opened shop in Singapore in 2020 during the year of COVID-19. YumzYumz visited Menbaka for a taste of its flaming ramen, and here is our food review of its Menbaka Original Shoyu Fire Ramen.
This was by far the best tasting ramen at Menbaka Fire Ramen Singapore. The shoyu (Japanese style soy sauce) chicken broth wasn’t overtly salty, savoury and yummilious. The broth work in unison with the chewy nicely blanched ramen noodles.
Topped with their signature overloaded chopped green onion toppings and neji oil fuel residue from the flaming performance, it was a marriage of heavenly ingredients all in one delightful bowl of goodness. The generous hijiki seaweed provided the needed extra crunchy texture.
At $17.90 for a bowl of shoyu ramen at Menbaka Fire Ramen, served with cha shu, facial with flaming experience and intoxicating green onion (neji) oil infused broth, it is definitely worth the trip. Highly recommended.
Finally a thin slice of tenderlicious cha chu was floating conspicuously at the top, begging for more companion of its kind. It can be argued that its quality is justifiable for just one slice, but two slices would definitely complete it’s yummilicious rout (we promise we won’t ask for a third ^^).
