If you are looking for a nice cozy place for a sumptuous fine Japanese cuisine, consider trying out Genzo Singapore, as we review on their out of this world angel hair pasta.

As stated on their menu as “The High-Roller Angel Hair Pasta”, it was in every way worthy of such terminology. Every single ingredient was exotic and amazing, hitting every note with perfection.

    Caviar & Edible Gold Flakes

A teaspoon sized serving of caviar intricately placed right at the top for elegance, and of course adding edible gold flakes gave the sense of luxury, although delivers no value to taste but exclusivity.

    Crunchy Sakura Ebi

Generous amount of light and crunchy sakura ebi (shrimps), provided subtle savoriness when taken together with the immensely flavourful noodles.

    Mountain of Ikura Roe

Plump orbs of salmon roe filled the side with gold flakes laid upon, providing the visual beauty and tremendous umami flavour. Every bite of the noodles with these pearls were literally bursting with delight.

    Freshly Shaved Truffle

Shaved truffle slices littered on top to provide texture and flavour, adding complexity and intensity to the senses.

    Umami intensed Uni (Sea Urchin)

Stated on their menu as A-Grade, but we wouldn’t know how great A-Grade is, but hey, it was definitely tasted awesome! Deep and intense flavour, creamy and rich umami taste, it was alluring and appetite stimulating.

    Sliced Hokkaido Hotate (Scallops)

Generous thick and meaty slices of scallops lined the top of the noodles, gave the needed texture to compliment the rest of the luxurious items, although whatever flavour it had, was totally obscured by the noodles’ truffle oil.

    Cold Angel Hair Noodles

Finally, after all the rich and flavour intense ingredients, came the main carbohydrate which was ALSO deep with flavour from truffle oil. Portion was huge and tasted so amazing.

For all the above, it cost $58 a pop for the indulgence. Atas food for atas price. ^^

    Signature Truffle Cold Noodles

If the ingredients are too much for your liking, you can try their truffle noodles that comes with sakura ebi only, whcih is priced at $12.80.

And you can customize the extra toppings like what we did. $15 for adding uni, $10 for sliced hotate, $8 for truffle slices, and $8 for ikura roes.

To complete the meal we made it into a set meal, which we got the Premium Set (such atas meal, might as well make it premium all the way mah LOL). Each premium set comes with a chawanmushi, 3 slices of sashimi of the day, miso soup and a dessert. Chwanmushi was interestingly bland, sashimi was nice with grated wasabi, frozen mochi with mango chunks and icecream within.

It is impossible to fault such perfect meal in any ways. Genzo Singapore certainly delivered visual beauty and quality food with gusto and precision.
