Can’t dine-in at hawker centers, YumzYumz gave Prima Taste ready meal a try, laksa fried rice, and undoubtedly seems like a repackaged combat ration to us. Let’s do review it.
Unfortunately, this ready-to-eat meal isn’t a viable substitute compared to traditional wok-hei filled fried rice. But it was a good effort.
It was quick and simple to prepare, simply by tearing a small slit at the top, followed by popping it into the microwave for 90seconds.
One of the positive point, is that it does not require refrigeration and can be consumed at any time.
And surprisingly, it is packaged similarly to the military’s combat ration.
The rice was mushy and clumpy but packed with flavouring. There were additionally few chunks of chicken covered with thick reduced curry.
Other visible ingredients with bits of soft carrots scattered around.
No doubt it was easy and quick to prepare, and taste was somewhat acceptable. But at $6.50 a pack, it was definitely not worth the price.
Nevertheless, you can get it from any major supermarkets or minimarts.
