Simple and healthy dish for anyone to try out while working from home or make it over the weekends. Delicious and easy to make cantonese style deep dried lemon chicken.
Serves 2 to 3 pax (Depends on how greedy you are ^^)

Ingredients lemon chicken
- 2 chicken breasts, skinned and deboned
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 4 tablespoons of cornstarch
- oil for deep frying
- grated lemon zest for garnish
Ingredients for sauce
- 3 tablespoons of lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons of chinese plum sauce
- 200ml of water
- 2 teaspoons of cornstarch
- 1/2 lemon, scrubbed, quartered and sliced thinly
Steps to Lemon Chicken Recipe
- Combine all sauce ingredients in a bowl and set aside.
- Lightly beat chicken breasts to a thickness of 12mm or 1/2 inch.
- Coat the chicken with beaten egg and dredge in cornstarch.
- Heat the oil in a wok over medium heat until shimmering and deep-fry the chicken until light golden brown, approximately 5 to 7 minutes, turning once.
- Drain on paper towels and set aside.
- Bring the sauce to a boil over medium heat. Simmer for 2 more minutes or until it thickens.
- Slice the chicken into serving pieces, pour the sauce over and serve immediately.
- Garnish with lemon zest and enjoy!
