Smacked right in the middle of Bishan Park, Grub offers some of the nicest all day breakfast, and offering nice and quiet ambience. YumzYumz gave Grub a visit on a hot sunny Sunday and this is our food review of their har cheong fried chicken with waffles, prawn paste chicken.
For a start, this plate of omg goodness was really heavy for breakfast, but it was worth every freaking calories.
The deep fried chicken marinated with prawn paste, was SO DAMN intense! Oily Juicy and tender on the inside and CRISPY on the outside. The crust was extremely tasty, full of prawn paste flavour, enveloping the mouth watering flesh hidden within. This ain’t anywhere in the healthy range, so we might as well indulge ourselves with some heavenly food. It came with a choice of sambal mayo, or plain mayo. We choice plain mayo and it paired real nice with the crunchy crispy yummilious poultry covered in prawn flavour. DELICIOUS!
Next were the waffles, crispy and sweet, pairing lovingly with its crunchy juicy partner on the side. We were sure that whatever was paired with the har cheong chicken will definitely get good reviews too. LOL. Anyways…. the waffles came with a tub of maple syrup and again, the syrup just mixed really awesome with the chicken too. OMG. The chicken… the heavenly prawn paste chicken…. Oh, and there were some greens which, well, were just garnish.
At $16 a pop, no wonder this amazing dish of har cheong fried chicken is one of Grub’s top seller. This deep fried crispy tender juicy prawn paste chicken cutlet will definitely satisfy any customer. Highly recommended.
