Craving for gooey cripsy yummy orh luak? Hougang Oyster Omelette & Fried Kway Teow serves up a wicked plate of fragrant and tasty fried oyster omelette. Where to get good oyster omelette? Head down to Hougang for your fix.
Pork lard ladled generously on the frying pan, white flour mixture and eggs were fried and flipped. We could see how all the goodness were coming together and bubbling away. 5 HUGE oysters and chopped chinese celeries were added to the mix briefly before serving. You can skip the celeries if you don’t like them (ya, some tremendously hates them).
Oysters were huge and juicy, taste oh-so-damn-good, along with the celeries which elevated its taste. Omelette was a confusion of delight. Huge crispy pan fried chunks, and gooey chunks all with a heap of deep wok hey infused goodness. In case you are on a strict diet and conscious of what you eat, we can safely state that this ain’t for you. It is heavy and oily, probably causing us some artery clogging issues, but it taste so damn awesome.
Dipping or pouring their own chili sauce was delectable and raised the taste level of this dish. Heavy on vinegar, it was sour yet appetizing, almost neutralizing the oily feel and creating almost a separate sensation to our taste buds.
$5 for small and $6 for big plate, Hougang Oyster Omelette & Fried Kway Teow’s Fried Oyster Omelette is definitely worth the calories. Recommended!
