Eatalley’s Bak Kut Teh: A Herb-Infused Delight in Orchard

Singapore, a melting pot of culinary experiences, never ceases to surprise our taste buds. This time, we embarked on a delicious adventure at Eatalley in Orchard, diving headfirst into the aromatic embrace of Bak Kut Teh at the renowned Klang Siong Huat Bah Kut Teh hawker stall. Let’s spill the flavorful beans on this unforgettable gastronomic journey.

Herbal Bak Kut Teh Combo: A Medley of Flavors

We kicked off our culinary escapade with the Claypot Bak Kut Teh Combo, a tantalizing symphony of pork ribs, pork stomach, pork intestines, enoki mushrooms, and tau kee, all for a wallet-friendly $14.80. The star of the show? The soup, of course! It was nothing short of stupendous, boasting rich herbal notes that danced on our taste buds. This herbal elixir was generously packed with ingredients, making every sip a flavor explosion.

The pork ribs were tenderlicious, with meat so succulent it nearly slid off the bone. The pork stomach and intestines were devoid of any undesirable odor, offering a delightful chewy texture. Enoki mushrooms added a satisfying crunch, while tau kee elevated the soup to new heights with its exceptional taste. Admittedly, given the price, we expected no less in terms of ingredient abundance.

    Shallot Rice: A Flavorful Twist

No Bak Kut Teh experience is complete without a side of rice, but Klang Siong Huat’s offering goes above and beyond. Their shallot rice, or 油飯, came as a delightful surprise, boasting a robust flavor that harmonized perfectly with the herbal Bak Kut Teh soup. At $1 a bowl, it was a small price to pay for this flavor-packed pairing.

You Tiao: The Soup’s Best Friend

To further enhance our culinary experience, we couldn’t resist adding a bowl of you tiao, or fried fritters, for $2.20. While it might seem a tad pricey for the portion, these crispy delights proved to be the perfect companion for soaking up the goodness of the herbal soup.

    More Temptations Await

Klang Siong Huat Bah Kut Teh offers a tempting array of options, including dry and soup versions of Bak Kut Teh at $10.80, pork knuckle Bak Kut Teh, and individual soups with pork stomach or intestines at $7.80 each. Enoki tau kee soup is also available for just $6.80.

    In Conclusion: A Tasty Recommendation

Our journey into the herbal Bak Kut Teh realm at Klang Siong Huat Bah Kut Teh was a flavorful success. We wholeheartedly recommend the Claypot Bak Kut Teh Combo for a tantalizing taste of this Singaporean classic. While it might be a tad pricey, the sheer deliciousness of every bite makes it well worth the visit to Eatalley in Orchard. So, don’t miss out on this culinary gem!
