A Noodle Adventure at Menya Musashi

In the heart of Takashimaya, where the city buzzes with food enthusiasts, we stumbled upon the hidden gem – Menya Musashi. Known for their authentic ramen, we decided to dive into the world of flavors with their Yakibuta Ramen set.

    The Set-Up: A Gastronomic Affair

For the ramen base, we opted for the classic White Original Tonkotsu, a pork soup base that promised a symphony of flavors. Accompanying our bowl of goodness was the Musashi Cold Tofu, the perfect sidekick to our ramen adventure. The entire set cost us a reasonable $22.90.

    Noodles to Satisfy the Soul

The ramen noodles, springy and chewy, danced with delight in our mouths. But let’s talk about that soup – it was out of this world! Rich, flavorful, and almost creamy (though it wasn’t creamy, just really thick!). The half ajitama egg with its gooey, smooth yolk added a luxurious touch.

    A Symphony of Textures

In our bowl, a square of nori stood tall, almost as useless-looking as it was useful. Well, at least it was aesthetically pleasing. Bamboo shoots and kombu seaweed added a delightful crunch to the mix. And then, there was the pièce de résistance – a colossal, tenderlicious braised pork. Soft, almost melt-in-the-mouth, with a gorgeously butaned flamed exterior.

    The Love-Hate Affair with Service

While the ramen stole the show, we have to address the elephant in the room – the service. Menya Musashi might not win any awards for hospitality, but it’s acceptable, given the star of the show is undeniably the Yakibuta Ramen.

Final Verdict: A Marriage of Flavors

The Yakibuta Ramen at Menya Musashi is more than just a meal; it’s a marriage of textures and flavors that leaves your taste buds applauding. From chewy noodles to crunchy bamboo shoots and the star of the show, the braised pork, every element plays its part in this delightful symphony
