    What else can you order besides steaks at Dan’s Steaks? Some of you may abstain from beef due to religious beliefs. We got ourselves their pan seared scallops from Dan’s Steaks menu for this food review.

    Served on a small hot pan were 5 gorgeously pan seared plump Hokkaido scallops. Succulent and soft on the inside and crusty exterior. Lots of of butter was used to achieve that caramelizing texture and aromatic garlicy flavour. Each scallop was seasoned nicely and full of umami, although slightly greasy on the outside. On the sides were 1 huge slab of buttery golden toast that married superbly with their bowl of cauliflower puree. Smooth and creamy, it didn’t taste anything like cauliflower, except for subtle hints of the vegetable taste. We smeared the puree on the crunchy crispy toast for the ultimate satisfaction. And coupled with the delectable garlic butter infused scallops, it was an absolute memorable meal.

    For the price of $32, it was perhaps not filling with the overall portion given. That being said, it was obvious that lots of effort and skill went into making this flavourful dish.
