Anyone who loves starchy gooey curry rice, will definitely know of scissor-cut curry rice. With their original outlet at Jalan Besar, they have opened an outlet at Upper Thomson, and YumzYumz gave them a visit and here is our curry rice food review.
With their usual thick and fragrant curry, mixed with the braised gravy, it was sufficient on its own as a meal with plain rice. Gooey, sticky, thick, amazingly satisfying.
On top of it, we added 3 ingredients of their famous pork chop slices, a fried egg, and an out of this world outrageously tasty ngor hiang.
The pork chops were tender, and the egg was gooey. Their ngor hiang had a soft chewy skin, or rather multi layers of fu pi (beancurd skin), wrapped around sweet pork and lots of crunchy tender turnips. It was a delightful addition to an appetizing plate of goodness.
As the shop was rather small and considering the COVID-19 restrictions, many patrons were ordering for take-aways. However the limited seats did not stop many from waiting around for seats. So be prepared for alittle waiting.
For the 3 ingredients that we got, each plate was priced at $4.80. We believe it was worth the wait and calories. Pork cutlet and ngor hiang was extremely worthed it.
