One of the popular stalls at Hong Lim, Cantonese Delights commands one of the long snakey queues during lunch time. We tried out their curry fried chicken cutlet noodles in this food review.
First off, chicken cutlet was absolutely tenderlicious and chunky, with crispy savoury skin. Soaked into their creamy curry elevated its taste with a varied and intensifying flavour. Although soggy thereafter, it was perhaps what everyone queueing up for it was looking to sink their teeth in. Curry was creamy, coconut milk fragrance was effusive, not the sweet kinda curry and good level of spiciness. The type of noodles were the usual mee kia, springy, not too chewy, and the curry held on really well.
At $4.50, it was perhaps slightly underwhelming in terms of portion against the price. But quality was definitely awesome. Worth noting was how friendly and courteous the auntie was when taking orders and serving the dishes, even though the queue was never ending during a busy weekend lunch period. It took us about 45minutes to an hour just to queue up…
If you happen to be at Hong Lim and have the time to queue for great food, do try out Cantonese Delights’ curry chicken cutlet. We definitely loved it. ^^
