There are quite a number of stalls offering curry chicken noodles at Hong Lim Market and Food Centre. But which curry chicken noodles to get? We tried out the stall on the second level, Ah Heng Curry Chicken Bee Hoon Mee in this food review.
Waiting time for weekday lunch crowd was about 20minutes, with about 10 pax ahead of us. Attitude was fairly warm and welcoming.
The defining ingredient, curry, was subtly spicy, and heavy handed on the sweetness level. Or rather, their curry is leaning towards sweet curry, defining themselves with a unique product.
Chicken chunks were all breast meat, weren’t tough and dry, but rather juicy and tender. Noodles, bean sprouts and chicken chunks were drenched in curry gravy over the main huge pot over and over to get temperature up, followed by the pieces of fish cakes and tau pok.
As mentioned, curry gravy was unique, sweet and tasty, with the rest of the ingredients simple and straight forward. We found ourselves finishing the whole bowl including the curry in no time at all. ^^
Orders starts from $5.50, $6.50 and $7.50.
With our order of curry chicken noodles at Ah Heng Curry Chicken Bee Hoon Mee coming at $5.50, quantity was slightly underwhelming, with tasty and satisfying quality.
