Delicious Bouncy Fishballs and Bak Chor Mee at Ru Ji Kitchen, Holland Drive
Ru Ji Kitchen at Holland Drive has two side by side stalls, one selling fishball noodles, while the other sells bak chor mee. For some reason, there will always be a long snakey queue at the fishball noodles side, while the bak chor mee had the occasional orders.
However, at the bak chor mee stall, you are able to get the all-in combo, where you get meatballs with fishballs. YumzYumz tried out their combo item here is our review.
With a base of bak chor mee, and meatballs plus fishballs, it definitely presents a visual beauty with an alluring presentation.
Generous amount of noodles, with a subtle presence of vinegar, sauce mix was mellow yet lingering. Minced pork was somewhat underwhelming as it was precooked, and scooped onto the noodles, rubbery but tasty.
Fishcake slices were meaty, accentuating the generous presence of fish meat.
The defining items were of course their fishballs and meatballs. No wonder the fishball noodles side is always having a long queue.
Fishballs were big, bouncy, chewy, smooth, and meatballs were fluffy yet meaty. 3 of each were given and they were definitely a gastronomic treat for anyone.
For such high quality balls at Ru Ji Kitchen, and at $5 per order, their bak chor mee with fishballs and meatballs is without a doubt, highly recommended by YumzYumz. And they were really friendly and helpful while taking our orders. ^^
