Serving only black carrot cake, 134 Yong Ji Traditional Carrot Cake is found within the labyrinth of stalls in Bukit Timah hawker. Let’s take a look at htis black carrot cake food review.
Hawkers who specialize in just 1 item, usually churn out some mind blowing foods. However in this case, we were far from being mind blown. No doubt some bits were nice and caramelized, some were badly burnt and charred. Eggs were generously added, mixed in with dark sweet sauce, but chai por were far and wide scarce. Kway was extremely mushy, way too soft and chopped into way too tiny bits for our liking and severely lacking in the fried garlic aroma department.
Price from $2.50, $3, $4, we got the $2.50 size and the portion was fairly given and ample as a side dish.
For a $2.50 black carrot cake, quantity was sufficient but quality was begging for more. Not an item where you would travel far and wide for, but probably nice to have if you chance upon.
