Located in the middle of Ang Mo Kio central, and right within a 24hours NTUC, Asam Tree offers various Halal foods. We tried their nasi padang, which cost $8.50 from our selections of rendang beef, sambal mussels and sayur lodeh.
We are suckers for sambal mussels as sometimes, nasi padang stalls don’t offer it and we love sambal mussels. So Shiok!
And Asam Tree’s sambal mussels didn’t disappoint. It was definitely shiok to the max.
Tender, spicy, satisfying. They have it all in their beef rendang.
Ladled generously, the sambal mussels are meaty and omg spicy. Definitely a selection for any fan of spicy food.
The sayur lodeh (curry vegetable) has nothing special to shout out about. Mediocre but it does lift the taste and flavour of the whole plate.
