    The famous bak chor mee from Tai Wah Pork Noodle’s Ang Mo Kio branch, gets their YumzYumz visit for this food review.

    Straying not far from their Hong Lim bak chor mee, noodles were nicely blanched and mixed into their slightly soupy and greasy sauce mix, savoury and spicy, hitting all the right notes. Generous amount of fluffy porky minced pork covered the top, along with soft and tenderlicious pork liver. On the sides were 3 finger sized Tee Poh (dried sole fish) which were crunchy and smoky, elevating the whole dish immensely. The amount of vinegar was spot on, not too overwhelming, while marrying lovingly with the chili sauce and other sauces.

    The key was perhaps their deep broth which almost had its own lifestream of richness running through it. Hearty and delectable soup with 5 bouncy chewy meatballs and 3 dumplings but with a small about of meat filling. And not to forget a bunch of seaweed that added another dimension to the soup in a holistic way. Lastly, a few chunky pieces of fried pork lard floating around gave us a glimpse of what the beautiful and subtle aroma from the soup originated from.

    Same awesome quality from their main stall, with generous portion. But considering the pricing, it was somewhat an expectation we had.

    At $9 a bowl of bak chor mee, either soup or dry from Tai Wah Pork Noodle (AMK), it was satisfying and yummilicious.
