With bright yellow eye catching outlet, Mater Chippy is hard to miss, especially in a coffee shop setting. We had their recommended item Atlantic Halibut fish and chips for this food review.
Served on a rectangle paper plate, the entire huge strip of deep fried fish protruded out of the plating. It’s batter was perfectly crisp and savoury, infused with aromatic herbs. Its interior was moist and flaky, meaty and subtly coated with its own fishy oil. This has got to be one of the nicer fish and chips we ever had. The consistency of its flesh was simply delectable with crunchy crust. For its sides, we got their basic selection of french fries and coleslaw, with other options of mash potatoes or rice. Both were mundanely simple and acceptable.
The other available sides were their premium selections of Greens ($0.80), Corn ($1), pasta ($1.60) , onion rings ($2), cheese fries ($2), mentaiko fries ($3), truffle fries ($3), sweet potato fries ($3).
The price of their Atlantic Halibut fish and chips was $15.80, or if you fancy it to be grilled. is at $16.80.
Quality was definitely great, but price of Master Chippy’s Atlantic Halibut fish and chips was perhaps alittle steep, but worth a try.
