What to eat when at Chao Yuan Noodle? How about some dry mee sua with a bowl of hearty soup? Here we take a look at Chao Yuan Noodle’s signature dish of dry mee sua food review.

Nicely plated with an array of colours. Mee sua noodles were clumpy but with the nature of mee sua, that was almost expected. But the sauce mix up was spirit up lifting, slightly greasy but balanced, spicy with their chili sauce and other sauced making it slightly acidic. A nice unique addition compared to other noodle stalls was their crispy ikan bilis. Minute add on, but packs an incredible difference with texture to the soft nature of noodles.

2 slices of abalone laid on top, together with a couple of scallops carefully crowned the top, along with alluring crispy deep fried pork lard.

Followed that was a bowl of goody hearty generously filled soup. Soup was cloudily filled with minced pork, sweet and savoury, bursting with taste, intense and rich. Pork liver were soft and cooked perfectly, providing the deep flavour. Finally, there were 2 meatballs that were obviously handmade, with the mouthful texture not found in machine made meatballs that has the rubbery feel. Tasty and remarkably memorable.

If you cant get enough of their ingredients, you have the option to add on, with 2 meatballs costing $1, 2 scallops cost $2, 2 slices of abalone cost $1.20, 2 fishballs cost $1, additional liver slices cost $1, additional pork slices cost $1, addtional noodles cost $1, while additional mee sua cost $1.

Worth noting would be their friendly attitude and eagerness to answer customers’ queries. And they are open 24hours. ^^

We got our fix at $6.30 for their dry mee sua, with an awesome soup on the sides, filling to the tummy as well as soul. Recommended!
